The environmentally delicate spit of sand dunes at the entrance to Chichester Harbour known as East Head is is protected by fences and marram grass (Ammophila arenaria) to ensure the land is not lost to wind and sea erosion by storm action and blowing sand. Boardwalks and tape are used to ensure the vegitation is not destroyed by careless feet. West Wittering, Sussex, UK. 16 August 2006.
