A female brimstone butterfly (Gonepteryx rhamni) feeding on a geranium(pelargonium) flower. The male is identified by the bright yellow wings; the female is greener and looks almost white in flight. These big active butterflies have distinctively shaped wings. Bedgebury Forest, Kent, UK. 29 August 2005
