Patches of grass growing in the sand at the end of Achnahaird Bay below the high water mark. These are beginning to merge to form mud or sand flats which will then become machair or sand dunes as more material accumulates. Achnahaird Bay, Achiltibuie, Ross shire, Scotland, UK. 04 October 2005
